As a featured guest, Mr. Roberge will talk about his smarketing success story and how the results placed HubSpot #33 on the 2011 INC 500 Fastest Growing Companies list. He will also be accepting questions from the group.
“One of the keys to our early success at HubSpot was recognizing the need for a strong connection between marketing and sales. ” said Mr. Roberge. “We have since helped over 5,000 small businesses implement a similar strategy to completely transform the economics of their business."
In addition to Mark Roberge, his father Rick Roberge has been selected as presenter for the smarketing discussion.

“After so many years in sales and sales training, I have seen first hand how the internet has changed the way people buy. Sales needs to change the way they sell as a result, just like marketing had to change the way they do marketing. ” said Rick Roberge, an expert sales coach and proclaimed ‘smarketing guru’. “I’m very proud of Mark, but more importantly what he has done with Hubspot is an example of the results Maine businesses can achieve with smarketing.”
“Smarketing is not a new process, or funky new buzzword word.” said Carole Mahoney, CEO of Mahoney Internet Marketing, which hosts the monthly meetup. “I first came across the concept of sales and marketing alignment in 2006. It wasn’t until 2008 that someone like Mark and the Hubspot founders dared to put it into place on a large scale.

Mrs. Mahoney went on to say, “Maine was just listed in Forbes as the worst state to do business in. That is why I am so excited for Mark and Rick to come here and drill down into the process and results that can change the business dynamic in Maine. I am confident that this will help us succeed and lead in the new economy. It is time to do it differently.”
HUGMEtoo is a regional networking and education event for the C-suite, small business owners and sales and marketing professionals. Participants in the meetup learn more about how to integrate inbound sales and marketing into their business growth strategies.
